The Barnacle Bills Story

Barnacle Bills

A local tradition since 1981 when Chris Way, 24 years of age was encouraged by the local mayor to expand on his talents and put what he learned working in the restaurant industry to use on a grander scale. Chris was prompted to open up his own restaurant and Barnacle Bills was born at 14 Castillo Drive, in the historic district of St. Augustine. Even 28 years later, we have customers calling to see if our famed Banana Delight and Spinach Casserole are the daily feature.

Chris Way is also the creator of Datl Do It hot sauces, made from
St. Augustine's own datil peppers, the sauce was served tableside and used to accidently disappear as the customers exited. So if Datl Do It was worth snatching maybe it was worth buying- today Datl Do It hot sauces, mustards, and jellies have international distribution.

Consistently voted as the most referred seafood restaurant in St. Augustine by hotel front desk staff and managers. Barnacles offers a family oriented atmosphere and serves only fresh seafood complemented with the finest ingredients.

Large tour groups bookings are available.
